Any lemons around your house? I have a few … a lemon is a spot or a thing that HAS to be there, but has “aesthetic” challenges … so now, do you have any lemons? An outlet in the middle of the wall, thermostat, fuse box, steam riser?
This is my kitchen lemon, a GIANT, white outlet, in the center of the wall over my bar cabinet, and under my beautifully accessorized (if I do say so myself) cookbook shelves …
This is my lemonade …
A fruit crate brought home from a Tuscan Market, yup that’s it! No more eyesore outlet …
Here are a bunch of great ideas for your lemons, and the rest of mine.
Exposed pipe in the living room? I have one in my bathroom … love this solution! Adding porch post to my flea market list.

Giant, ugly, air vents? Kelly at Eclectically Vintage made lemonade by using an Antique crib side rail and ribbons to cover it up. I love outside the box solutions …

These 2 cover ups deal with all that techy crap we have to have in our homes … the router and the wires.

Or …. we can embrace them and make them as beautiful as their surroundings

So many different ways to make lemonade of the lemons our homes can toss our way … thanks to the creative bloggers that share their wonderful ideas!

Wonderful, amazing, lovely client .. great, eclectic vintage & antique pieces … no venue! So, I switched it up to help her out … why not? I mean I love doing Estate Sales, and she is great … WIN WIN! So I thanks to her, I have now added Consignment Services to my repertoire.
Over years and years of Antiquing, Thirfting, Tag Saling & good old fashioned picking my client, and her late husband, amassed a house full of vintage ephemera, original art, china, stone ware, beer & bar related items, music memorabilia, did I mention PAPER & ART …
We worked together and sorted through her 40 plus years of collecting. I liberated her of all of her salable goods (LUCKY US!) and am sharing them with the world, for a price of course.
After packing, moving, cleaning, and researching all of the items, I can safely say this is the most eclectic, and coolest bunch of stuff I have ever seen come from one place. EVER!
Barware & Beer Collectibles
Stoneware & Folk Art Pieces
Beautiful Silver Plate Pieces
Antique Button Collection
Vintage Military Models (my hubby jumped up and down a little when these came home)
Here is a SMALL, very small, taste of the china, glass, kitchen wares … etc.
Did I mention vintage paper & art?
To all of you that adore great stuff, this is the sale for you. There is something for everyone … glassware, china, stoneware, steins, decanters, mugs, barware, Brewaria, collectibles, Militaria, cameras, silver plate, Antique Buttons, sheet music, 45s, Vintage Military models, ephemera (some local to Yonkers) … Did I miss anything? What do you collect? I bet I have it!
Hope to see you there ..
It is the last full week of school here … getting all of my Summer ducks in a row, prepping for a Furniture Sale, and a little writing exercise …
The Fan of the Week App SSUUCCKKSS! Not doing it anymore … so there. Stay tuned, I am going to come up with some form of “Fan” recognition that does not require a persnickety Facebook App.
The Share … I don’t think I actually shared this with you guys, just my personal Facebook page … how does this sound to you Peanut Butter Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies, or how about Chocolate Cupcakes with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting & Bacon Streusel … The fantastic Terri Powers, of Terri’s Table has a lot of bacon and she is not afraid to use it!
The Pin … is such a great idea that I broke my number 1 Pinning rule and Pinned it even though I can’t find the original source … I was able to track it back to a wonderful site with dancing PeeWee Hermans and links about Poop & Unicorns. Interested click here. I like this idea, and may use it in the husband’s closet, I am always on the lookout for better ways to corral his many, many shoes …
Still working on that guest post (sorry Mo), this heat makes me more nuts than usual, have a sale coming up ~ stay tuned for details. Getting ready for a roadtrip to “The Dirty South”, Chattanooga TN, and then some time at the Shore. Here comes the Summer!
